Barking & Dagenham Council is set to receive over £7 million to help prevent and tackle homelessness after the Labour government announced the largest investment in homelessness prevention services.
Commenting on the cash boost, Nesil Caliskan MP, Labour Member of Parliament for Barking said: “Ending ‘no fault’ evictions, record investment in affordable housing, and now the largest ever investment in homelessness prevention – this additional funding will help ensure more families do not find themselves homeless this Christmas.
“The Labour government is fixing the housing crisis we inherited from the Conservatives.”
